Index Sets in Modeling Languages
نویسنده
چکیده
Index-sets are an integral and fundamental part of every mathematical modeling language. They assist the modeler in grouping various objects and entities. Indexsets are also used extensively in the mathematical notation in order to write an expression in a concise way. An example is the sigma notation for formulating the summation of an unknown positive number n of terms. In this paper, the concept of index-set is introduced in the context of modeling languages. The main objective is to propose an extension and generalization of the concept of index-sets, which is the concept of hierarchical index-sets. The paper concludes with an application.

Modeling of Epistemic Uncertainty in Reliability Analysis of Structures Using a Robust Genetic Algorithm
In this paper the fuzzy structural reliability index was determined through modeling epistemic uncertainty arising from ambiguity in statistical parameters of random variables. The First Order Reliability Method (FORM) has been used and a robust genetic algorithm in the alpha level optimization method has been proposed for the determination of the fuzzy reliability index. The sensitivity level ...
متن کاملA New Uncertain Modeling of Production Project Time and Cost Based on Atanassov Fuzzy Sets
Uncertainty plays a major role in any project evaluation and management process. One of the trickiest parts of any production project work is its cost and time forecasting. Since in the initial phases of production projects uncertainty is at its highest level, a reliable method of project scheduling and cash flow generation is vital to help the managers reach successful implementation of the ...
متن کاملReflective Extension of Object Constraint Languages, Sustainable Constraint Writing and a Symbolic Viewpoint of Modeling Languages
In this technical report we show how to extend object constraint languages by reflection. We do this in terms of the concrete OMG language stack. We extend the OCL (Object Constraint Language) by operators for reification and reflection. We give precise semantics to the extended language OCLR by giving the necessary type derivation rules and value specifications. A driving force for the introdu...
متن کاملXML Representation of EXPRESS Models and Data
EXPRESS is a modeling language for use in engineering data exchange standards that combines the entity-attributerelationship and object modeling paradigms. This paper discusses some issues we encountered when attempting to represent EXPRESS models and data sets as XML (Extensible Markup Language). Our experience should be applicable to other projects concerned with providing XML-based exchanges...
